It must be black for the rest of our table in the game room, and I wanted a large open space under the TV for a good bar to fit. This combination proved very difficult to find, and this tech-craft unit was one of the few to all our needs. I would rather have a solid wooden stand, but all I could find that matches our needs were more than $ 1,000 of FDI and the Salamander. So we decided to try this one. The lead was quickly delivered to our door. It was very well packaged with no damage to speak of. Unfortunately requires a complete assembly. The only pre-assembled all glass doors and sides. I am a pretty handy guy, but it took about two hours methodically to complete the assembly. But, once completed, we were very pleased with the results. The important parts are in solid wood - the entire top, sides, door frames and a piece on the bottom is done the rest of engineered wood (particleboard), with a black finish veneer. The finish is very smooth, if more than a little gloss lacquer finish 'of smooth, with no wood grain visible. The unit is very solid and heavy when assembled. We have a 46 "plasma on the top and fits perfectly. I was worried at the time of order may be too large. Mueller more than two months ago, my wife and I looked everywhere to find the perfect unit to house our components and rose only to 40 "LCD on the wall. We needed some dimensions of height, width and color and wanted to hide everything behind glass doors. This unit was perfect! I had two concerns with this unit though. 1) My Harmony 880 Universal Remote Control (buy one!) would not be able to penetrate the ground glass. 2) Enclosing my components ( the most important of the PS3 and the receiver) of a door can cause overheating.'m happy to report that none of my fears came true. The Harmony works through the doors of ice cream with ease. I am also happy to report that my constituents won " t overheat. My last step in the construction process was to attach the material to support the unit. Before doing so I tried to move the unit a little and was solid as a rock. As a result I left the unit to turn back, so everything is open in the back if I put my TV on the stand so I probably would have been installed with support, but I do not have the weight probably will not need extra support. We were very happy, but with this unit. The materials used are of high quality MDF and all pre-drilled hole and the plug was in exactly the right position. (No off-center or gaps that are missing, like many previous articles we collected). The device is manufactured in Quebec, Canada, and the company is ready to improve the quality! The assembly manual is clear and understandable. Every picture in the manual to see how each part should be aligned with each hole pre-specified in the figure, this is very important because it allows for the assembly of a part of it wrong and have to start again. Each piece is clearly marked with a code that is mentioned in the manual and the company ships the unit with a number of additional items such as small plastic anchors ... "The only thing"! Dooley Here is a copy of my letter to customer service: Last night I was in Savannah Corner TV. I do not know where to start. Let's start with the color - - calling it "dark cherry". I have several shades of cherry wood furniture in my house, and this is nothing more than "Cherry", dark, yes, but the cherry, no. It is a dark brown almost black. But I could live with it ... The detailed description of the device says "Some Assembly Required". Let's see, there are 52 pieces, 229 76 brackets and hardware elements for a total of 357 works, so it would be if you had sent them all. I am a builder and it took more than four hours so far and probably one hour left me, when I get more parts. Five hours is entitled to "some assembly"? Here is what is missing in the box: - The two (different sizes) screws that go into basic Hing (H145994), each - (1) large plug (H38169) - (1) small end (H144907) - (16) screws (H23119) - (16) screws (H146001) - (16) screws (H146052) Here's what is broken and needs replacing: (a) H144906 Cam Lock (crumbled when I turned it by hand) (3) box parentheses (H100445), delivered broken, even the wooden leg into a screw thread, I screwed them, gently, and a sleeve crumbled all "wood" that surrounds and fell out. I tried to install with a little wood glue. So I have a $ 3,000 television, sitting on a TV stand with a broken leg. This thing seems expensive, but has solid wood, where it counts. They were like two sides of the laminate has a visible line on the left with a black Sharpy solid, but it is also hidden when the door is closed (you do not see, solid wood, with closed doors). At this price it's the best you can get what you. Portable space to install, simple and saves CallMeB I've never bought furniture online, but the price tag has irritated me to do so. It is very easy from one place to another without moving charges. Certainly saves a lot of space and we use it for all my study material stack. Edwards I bought this for my wife to replace my ugly style bachelor MDF / concrete blocks "entertainment" unit. I was very happy with the price, and more than impressed with the packaging to prevent damage during delivery. Be prepared to have someone help you get into your home because it is too heavy for one person. I had to turn from end to end to walk through my door (this is not the recommended procedure if you're wondering). If you have stairs, installation of chiropractic appointment first. Since then, I opened the box and took all the 5 million pieces. I opened the instructions and began. There is nothing complicated about assembly, but the cancellation of an easy 3-5 hours working on it. Having built many of these "types" of different units now prefer to take my time and double check everything before I was halfway through a project and start over, I suggest the same thing. Almost every part of this unit requires you to paste a lot of wooden poles to support them. While I like this from a standpoint of construction, I would be lying if I said that I will take a while 'to complete. Overall the stand is functional, the perfect size for my Sony 60 "XBR TV. He holds my 4 main components and all the different types of remote control function through the glass. The drawer is nice because it has additional remotes I know where to find them. I also like that the back is solid wood and cardboard is not cheap .... so there is plenty of support. The only "Con" is that the center speaker to the center section of the stand does not is large enough to maintain a real quality of the center speaker. mine is currently on the ground in front of the TV leads accordingly. At this point I'm not sure how we intend to address them. All in all I am satisfied with the state, if you have time and you have the muscles, I would recommend this stand over for you. Update 04/12/2010: It's been almost three years. The furniture has held up well in daily life. We have a 18 months old who likes to hit with too many toys. Gibson, like many other reviewers, took the church for a while but it was worth it (especially for the price.) Frame is very sharp looking. The dark wood color blends very well with my "Touch of Color" red edge on my Samsung LN52A650 celebrates the perfect size for my cable box and other components. Glass doors allow IR signals to pass. The center console could actually fit my receiver, but I chose to put it behind glass door, for now. There is not much ventilation components. My Xbox 360 and PS3 will be extremely hot even with the doors open. I recommend cutting the holes in the back to increase air flow. The center shelves are almost useless, I still have not found any decent center speaker that fits on the shelf. You can only install small parts center on the shelves, some decoders be fine. I am currently storing some DVDs and some other junk on the shelves center. It would be better if the tie was greater and there was only one shelf. All in all I am happy with this purchase. Good for the price you Burnie My husband and I purchased this TV stand because it was for sale, and they seemed to fit the size of the TV and components (unlike others, we checked). We chose the Super Saver Shipping and surprising box popped up two days later! Super easy to put together (I could use my drill instead of a hex wrench stupid). Support looks good, but is a bit 'fragile - the side panels are not even 1 / 4 inch thick. He works for us, but since our TV is very heavy and will not be moved. Only suggestion I have for others is to measure the depth of your components (DVD, cable box), including the wires that protrude in the rear. We measured our cable box, but not account for cables and the box hangs out in front about an inch. Material is light and fragile. We got our unit with a broken leg. You can see where Brad had driven a nail in the accession framework, which in turn caused the wood to split secure. Moreover, if we drive to mount, we found that one of the key was quarter of an inch smaller than the other. I had the screws on both sides allowing visible flaws in fit and finish loosening. Finally, I shorted one of the screws. As I'm sure it's no surprise, I was not very happy with this purchase. Trying to pack up and return these products is a pain, especially if you're out looking for wearing something that you have patiently waited to receive just to have to go back and wait again. The material is light and thin. We have our unit with a broken leg. But this is not exactly the dream of consumers to demand it. Yes, it is solid wood. Yes, it's pretty stable, though: Firewood is also solid. The tree for this device is actually very cheap and looks cheap. Significantly lighter in color frames that the Assembly is not as easy as users make it out. You will need a few "flat pack" experience if you want to ensure it is robust enough to be trusted to keep the TV. There was also a group of pre-existing scratches and scuffs in the grain. It was about $ 100 when I got it. As price falls, may be better value, but it is certainly not a bargain.
