Edwards I bought this for my wife to replace my ugly style bachelor MDF / concrete blocks "entertainment" unit. I was very happy with the price, and more than impressed with the packaging to prevent damage during delivery. Be prepared to have someone help you get into your home because it is too heavy for one person. I had to turn from end to end to walk through my door (this is not the recommended procedure if you're wondering). If you have stairs, installation of chiropractic appointment first. Since then, I opened the box and took all the 5 million pieces. I opened the instructions and began. There is nothing complicated about assembly, but the cancellation of an easy 3-5 hours working on it. Having built many of these "types" of different units now prefer to take my time and double check everything before I was halfway through a project and start over, I suggest the same thing. Almost every part of this unit requires you to paste a lot of wooden poles to support them. While I like this from a standpoint of construction, I would be lying if I said that I will take a while 'to complete. Overall the stand is functional, the perfect size for my Sony 60 "XBR TV. He holds my 4 main components and all the different types of remote control function through the glass. The drawer is nice because it has additional remotes I know where to find them. I also like that the back is solid wood and cardboard is not cheap .... so there is plenty of support. The only "Con" is that the center speaker to the center section of the stand does not is large enough to maintain a real quality of the center speaker. mine is currently on the ground in front of the TV leads accordingly. At this point I'm not sure how we intend to address them. All in all I am satisfied with the state, if you have time and you have the muscles, I would recommend this stand over for you. Update 04/12/2010: It's been almost three years. The furniture has held up well in daily life. We have a 18 months old who likes to hit with too many toys. All in all, who stood up well to this punishment. Like most "fake wood" furniture, if you pull it too deep, you'll see a lighter color substrate during the dark cover. I usually just pull it with a black marker pen and you never see without close inspection. I now have Wii and a computer. Every breath into the box OK, but not great. Gibson, like many other reviewers, took the church for a while but it was worth it (especially for the price.) Frame is very sharp looking. The dark wood color blends very well with my "Touch of Color" red edge on my Samsung LN52A650 celebrates the perfect size for my cable box and other components. Glass doors allow IR signals to pass. The center console could actually fit my receiver, but I chose to put it behind glass door, for now. There is not much ventilation components. My Xbox 360 and PS3 will be extremely hot even with the doors open. I recommend cutting the holes in the back to increase air flow. The center shelves are almost useless, I still have not found any decent center speaker that fits on the shelf. You can only install small parts center on the shelves, some decoders be fine. I am currently storing some DVDs and some other junk on the shelves center. It would be better if the tie was greater and there was only one shelf. All in all I am happy with this purchase.
