It must be black for the rest of our table in the game room, and I wanted a large open space under the TV for a good bar to fit. This combination proved very difficult to find, and this tech-craft unit was one of the few to all our needs. I would rather have a solid wooden stand, but all I could find that matches our needs were more than $ 1,000 of FDI and the Salamander. So we decided to try this one. The lead was quickly delivered to our door. It was very well packaged with no damage to speak of. Unfortunately requires a complete assembly. The only pre-assembled all glass doors and sides. I am a pretty handy guy, but it took about two hours methodically to complete the assembly. But, once completed, we were very pleased with the results. The important parts are in solid wood - the entire top, sides, door frames and a piece on the bottom is done the rest of engineered wood (particleboard), with a black finish veneer. The finish is very smooth, if more than a little gloss lacquer finish 'of smooth, with no wood grain visible. The unit is very solid and heavy when assembled. We have a 46 "plasma on the top and fits perfectly. I was worried at the time of order may be too large. I usually prefer the low console, but once assembled with the TV on top looks great and the height is really nice. The door opened slowly and have adjustable hinges. There are two adjustable shelves in the center section and one on each side behind the doors. The rear panel has a large slot to pass the cable through and cooling. The great open area below the TV will be perfect when you add the sound bar. In general, I am very impressed with this stand. The quality seems excellent for the money, and End appears resistant. If you are looking for a position in the corner you sound bar speaker or center channel width can accommodate, this is a great choice because you do not mind and do not require installation of a piece of solid wood 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
